Don’t focus on promoters. They don’t have the time or will to listen to your demo.
Focus on the music fans. They spend all day listening to and sharing new music. If your music is good it will make the rounds and you will start getting your numbers up on social media. If promoters hear about you from someone cool and then see you have fans when they look you up they will come to you.
The art of music is one thing, but the business of music is a numbers game. You need fans fans fans! I know it feels weird at first promoting yourself but you HAVE TO DO IT if you take your music seriously. I still hate promoting myself and my music but I know it’s necessary so I suck it up and do all the boring shit that makes the fun part happen.
