I've used a LOT of different synthesizers in my life and I have to say: NOTHING sounds quite like a Moog.
There's just that certain special analog SOMETHING that gives Moog synths a presence, warmth and physicality you can't get from a VST. I'm sure that if one of their engineers were here they could give us a long detailed explanation of exactly WHY but all you really need to know is how it SOUNDS.
If you A:B compare the same oscillator sounds from a Moog to any other hardware or software synth the Moog wins every time. There are no 'sweet spots' because it ALL sounds AMAZING.
I went and meticulously sampled different notes from the Moog into my MPC, loaded them into the Ableton Sampler, split them over the full keyboard, tuned them to concert pitch, and then used all of the amazing features of the Ableton Sampler to take the patches to the next level.
This patch contains:
38 Bass Patches for Ableton Sampler
17 Multisampled Moog Little Phatty Patches
21 ill.Gates Patches Built With The Moog Samples
